Search and smart folders
Search the folder you’re in and everything below it, then keep the search as a smart folder that stays up to date.
Search below any folder
Press ⌘F and type. FolderZoom looks in the folder you are in and everything below it. *.pdf works.
Smart folders
Save as Smart Folder keeps the search in the folder tree. Open it again any time: the results follow the disk as files come and go. Smart folders made in the Mac’s own file viewer open too.
Tags
Click a tag in the tree to see everything that carries it, on every disk.
Search by type, size and date
kind:image, size:>10mb, date:week and ext:psd narrow a search down, and work together.
Advanced search Pro
NOT ext:png leaves words out, ext:pdf OR ext:png takes either, created:week finds new files, and NOT in:node_modules skips a folder.
